The Spring Lake Ski Hill was busy with skiers and snowboarders during the Spring Lake Ski Hill Grand Opening at the Spring Lake Ski Hill in Saddle Hills County, Alta. on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2025.

Kara Teare, Spring Lake Ski Hill president, said its been many years of volunteer hours to get the ski hill up and running again.

The day included lift passes sponsored by All Peace Rally and Artesian Insurance, beef on a bun, and doughnuts.

Teare said Saddle Hills County and the County of Grande Prairie were instrumental in getting the ski hill back running.

The ski hill opened in December after being closed for many years.

Teare says she grew up skiing on the hill and sees it as “launching pad” for many local youth to learn skiing and snowboarding.

On Saturday the hill was filled with people from beginners to pros.
