PHOTOS: Chariot Festival debuts in GP

The Grande Prairie Hindu Association hosted its first Chariot Festival  in Grande Prairie on Saturday. 

A parade left the Montrose Cultural Centre after an Aarti (prayer) and made its way to Muskoseepi Park for more dancing and food. 

The tradition began over 5,000 years ago in the city of Jagannatha Puri, India and is now celebrated worldwide each summer to honour Lord Jagannatha.
