Nearly 60 people were honoured at this year’s County of Grande Prairie Regional Fire Service and Enforcement’s 2024 graduation and service award ceremony March 14.
Fifty-nine members were recognized for their years of service, outstanding contributions, and career milestones, and three Fire Services graduates celebrated completion of their training.
Families, community members, county councillors and staff joined in recognizing the graduates as they took their official oath, administered by county Reeve Bob Marshall, marking the beginning of their careers in the Regional Fire Service. Additionally, long-serving members were acknowledged with special awards presented for peer recognition and exceptional service.
“Our emergency services professionals demonstrate outstanding commitment and deserve our deepest gratitude,” said Marshall. “We are proud to support them in their ongoing dedication to keeping our families, friends, and communities safe.”
“We are grateful to have so many skilled and devoted people protecting our communities,” said county fire chief Trevor Grant. “The courage they display in their service to others is commendable and inspiring.”
